CSA’s, Organic, and Naturally Grown
Community Supported Agriculture also known as CSA’s, are essentially local farms that provide shares of their products to local consumers. Many of these are family owned ad run. Typically the costs are reasonable and the food is fresh. This farm to table concept is a growing and exciting opportunity to help consumers better get to your farms and your food. Many CSA’s provide seasonal vegetables, and fruits, poultry, dairy, and meat products. Call one up and find out how to get a share. It might make a good holiday gift for someone.

Organic farming is catching on in WNY.  Consumers are demanding it and our local farms are finding ways to meet the demands of the marketplace. Not all farms are organic, and not all CSA’s provide organic food.

Many CSA farms are not organically certified but are certified as "naturally grown"  which is similar to organic. Certified naturally grown farms follow ecological practices and  and do not use synthetic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers.

Family and Local Farms are those that have not adopted industrial farming methods, but instead work on a small scale to get fresh locally grown food from farm to consumer, including local restaurants and you. Many of these small scale farms have farm stands seasonally.
