There are new businesses popping up in Buffalo every day. One of the more interesting and important in recent years is the community owned Urban Roots. Urban roots is a garden center in the heart of the city that offers for sale plants and garden related products, garden tools, soil, seeds, gifts, and more. Located in a Victorian style building on the city’s west side, they also offer workshops and special programs geared toward the urban gardener. Urban Roots is owned by its members, much like the Lexington Co-op on Buffalo’s Elmwood Strip. This business is a welcome addition to Buffalo’s burgeoning garden culture as well as a wonderful new neighbor on the west side and is destined to enrich the entire community of Buffalo.
